Peshawar Zalmi’s Mohammad Haris took a stunning catch during his team’s match against Lahore Qalandars in PSL 2022 on Monday, February 21 at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore. He took the catch to dismiss Kamran Ghulam and give fast bowler Arshad Iqbal a wicket in the Qalandars’ run-chase. Iqbal bowled a short ball and Ghulam went for a full-blooded pull shot.
But he didn’t find enough timing and the ball went miles up in the air. Hazratullah Zazai went back from mid-wicket to take the catch, but lost his balance. The ball spilled out from his hands and Ghulam almost got a lifeline. However, Haris was there to cover up for him. He showed great reflex and presence of mind to take the rebound.
He ran in from square leg to take the sensational catch. The on-field umpires went upstairs to confirm if the catch Haris took was clean. And it took the third umpire only one replay to judge the legitimacy of the catch. Haris was over the moon after he took the catch. The wicket was a crucial one as Ghulam was batting on 25 off 18 balls.

Haris has also been impressive with the bat for the Zalmi in the tournament. In four matches, the youngster has notched 154 runs at an average of 38.50 and a strike rate of 190.12. His top score of 70 came against Islamabad United on February 17.
In four first-class, 12 List A, and 12 T20 matches, Haris has notched 75, 299, and 269 runs respectively with one century and four half-centuries. The now 20-year-old was also a part of the Pakistan U19 team in the U19 World Cup in South Africa back in 2020.
Apart from the Zalmi, led by Wahab Riaz, Haris has also played for the Karachi Kings, now led Babar Azam. The Kings failed to qualify for the playoffs after finishing at he bottom of the points table this season. With a bright future ahead of him, it remains to be seen if Haris can break into the Pakistan national team.
