Kieron Pollard is mainly known for scaring bowlers with his insane powerhitting ability. He has been one of the best six-hitters in T20 cricket over the years but his bowling somehow hasn’t got as much recognition as it should have in all these years.
Generally a medium-pace bowler, Pollard uses a mixture of cutters to outfox the batters. His bowling has been so effective that he has more than 300 T20 wickets to his name as well. But a rare sight was witnessed on Monday when he was seen bowling off-spin during the ongoing Trinidad T10 Blast.
Scoa King were off to great start as the openers put on 45 runs in the first three overs. That’s when skipper Kieron Pollard brought himself on to bowl but to everyone’s surprise, he started bowling off-breaks. The initial result wasn’t great as he conceded 10 runs off his first four deliveries. However, Pollard came back strongly as he cleaned up Leonardo Julien in the very next delivery.

With that wicket, Pollard gave the Scarlet Ibis Scorchers a much-needed breakthrough. Interestingly, that was the only over Pollard bowled in the match. That wicket didn’t have any effect on the King’s scoring rate, though, as they went on to post 150/3 in their quota of 10 overs.
Rain interrupted for a while and as a result, the target was revised to 123 in eight overs. However, that turned out to be too much for the Scorchers as they managed only 80/3 in the eight overs they batted. Pollard couldn’t come up with any heroics with the bat as he was dismissed cheaply for eight runs off just six deliveries.
