Something very bizarre happened in the Women’s National Cricket League, with the batter getting bowled but no one realising that a bail was off the wickets. The incident took place during the fixture between Queensland women and Tasmania women, which ended with the latter winning by five wickets, but the incident that captured all attention came in the first innings.

Opener Georgia Redmayne, who was yet to get to her half-century, was left bamboozled with a beautiful seam up delivery that straightened inward and caught her off guard. She played down the wrong line, and the ball managed to clip the top of the off bail. The batter was left stunned, but hang on, there is more to it.

The funny part was with the keeper who was standing up front to the batter for the medium pacer. Rachel Priest found too was surprised with the quality of the delivery, and the ball it her fingers right after clipping the bail. Her attention tuned towards the ball which deflected sideways, and as it turned out, no one besides the batter noticed that a bail was off.

Redmayne managed to get away in the most hilarious way possible, and the incident only came into light after the camera personnel showed the replays. It was indeed hilarious how the batter managed to skip everyone’s eye.

The game turned out to be a decently close affair, but Tasmania managed to nick it a lot more comfortably. This was perhaps a compensation for not getting Redmayne’s wicket when it was possible.

Queensland managed to score 233 runs batting first, with Redmayne and Grace Harris chipping in with crucial knocks. Nicola Carey got a hundred for Tasmania, which made things easy despite losing wickets very early. Heather Graham and Carey added 111 runs for the third wicket, which sealed the deal for the chasing side.
