Rajat Patidar injury was reportedly serious enough to keep him out of action for an extended period. The RCB captain and India batter had sustained an injury in the first unofficial Test between India A and South Africa A in Bengaluru, which ruled him out for around four months.
He was in the form of his life before this unfortunate setback and scored runs consistently, at least in red-ball cricket, to raise hopes of reclaiming a spot in the Indian team. Additionally, Rajat Patidar injury was a massive blow for Madhya Pradesh as well, as he was unlikely take part in this season’s Ranji Trophy and other domestic tournaments.
Following the conclusion of IPL 2025, where he guided RCB to their maiden trophy, Patidar played in the Duleep Trophy and ended the tournament as the leading run-scorer. He scored 382 runs at an average of 76.40 in five outings, including two fifties and as many centuries.

Rajat Patidar injury had left RCB fans and management concerned about his availability for IPL 2026. He is their captain and one of the premium batters whose absence will massively disrupt the team’s balance as the franchise starts its run for title defence.
To the happiness of all the fans, the RCB skipper is set to make a return for the third SMAT fixture for Madhya Pradesh on November 30. The middle-order batter recovered from his left-knee niggle and was cleared to play by the BCCI Centre of Excellence (CoE). Patidar will make a comeback to cricket after a period of four weeks.

The rehabilitation period was four months, and he has done exceedingly well to reduce to a matter of four weeks. With him back in the ranks, the Madhya Pradesh team will be bolstered by his presence in the SMAT 2026.
Concerns would only have arose if Patidar suffered another setback in his rehabilitation, which would have extended his recovery period and forced him to miss the initial games of the next season.
