Out of the top 5 bids, three have been made by Chennai Super Kings.
Prashant Veer and Kartik Sharma created history at the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 auction by becoming the joint most expensive uncapped players in IPL history. Chennai Super Kings (CSK) bought both players for INR 14.20 crore each.
They broke Avesh Khan’s previous record of INR 10 crore, which was set when Lucknow Super Giants bought him at the IPL 2022 auction.
Aaqib Dar has been bought by Delhi Capitals for INR 8.40 crore in the IPL 2026 auction.

Prashant Veer’s IPL value soared at the IPL 2026 auction, with Chennai Super Kings paying INR 14.20 crore for the Uttar Pradesh all-rounder in Abu Dhabi. He is now at the top of the list of most expensive uncapped players in IPL history. His base price of INR 30 lakh. CSK faced early interest from Rajasthan Royals and a late challenge from Sunrisers Hyderabad before securing him.
In 12 T20s so far, Veer has scored 112 runs at a strike rate of 167.16 and taken 12 wickets in nine innings at an economy of 6.45. He is expected to be a potential Ravindra Jadeja replacement in the CSK squad.
After Prashant Veer, Kartik Sharma became the joint big buy at the IPL 2026 auction. He is now at the joint top in the list of most expensive uncapped players in IPL. Mumbai Indians started the bidding at his base price of INR 30 lakh, but Kolkata Knight Riders and Lucknow Super Giants quickly pushed it past INR 5 crore. CSK then joined the fight with KKR, driving the price higher, while Sunrisers Hyderabad made a late attempt to compete. In the end, CSK won and bought the 19-year-old for a whopping INR 14.20 crore.
So far, he has scored 133 runs in six matches at an average of 26.60 and a strike rate of 160.24.

Before Prashant Veer and Kartik Sharma, Avesh Khan was at the top in the list of most expensive uncapped players in IPL history, when he was bought for INR 10 crore in the IPL 2022 auction. But not he is third in the list. He was released by Delhi Capitals before the auction, and teams like CSK, LSG, Mumbai Indians, Delhi Capitals, and Sunrisers Hyderabad bid for him.
In that season, he took 18 wickets in 13 matches for LSG. He moved to Rajasthan Royals in 2024 but was bought back by LSG in the 2025 auction and has been retained since.
Krishnappa Gowtham was bought by Chennai Super Kings (CSK) for INR 9.25 crore at the IPL 2021 player auction, making him the most expensive uncapped player at the time. This was a huge jump from his INR 20 lakh base price. He did not play any matches for CSK that season.
Gowtham has since played for Rajasthan Royals, Punjab Kings, and Lucknow Super Giants. He now ranks fourth in the list of most expensive uncapped players in IPL history.
Tamil Nadu finisher Shahrukh Khan is fifth in the list of most expensive uncapped players in IPL. He was signed by Punjab Kings for INR 9 crore at the IPL 2022 auction. He previously played for Punjab Kings in the 2021 season but was released and later bought for a higher price ahead of the 2022 season.
He played for Gujarat Titans in the 2024 and 2025 seasons and has been retained for another season. So far in the IPL, he has scored 732 runs in 55 matches.
