India A Lose Three Wickets, End Day 2 at 78-3

After the dismissal of Abhimanyu Easwaran, India A also lost the wickets of Sai Sudharsan and Devdutt Padikkal, ending day 2 at 78-3 with a lead of 112 runs. Kuldeep Yadav was sent in as the nightwatchman and stayed till the end along with KL Rahul who is unbeaten on 26 off 57 balls.

Abhimanyu Easwaran Falls on Duck Again

Abhimanyu Easwaran, after getting out for a duck in the first innings, was dismissed for another duck in the second innings. In both innings, he was out in the same way being LBW both times.

It wasn’t the kind of outing Abhimanyu Easwaran would have hoped for. India A lost their first wicket for just five runs. Easwaran has also not been picked for the upcoming South Africa series.

Prasidh Krishna Took Three Wickets To Bundle South Africa A for 221

South Africa were dismissed for 221 in their first innings. Prasidh Krishna was the highest wicket-taker with three wickets, while Mohammed Siraj and Akash Deep took two wickets each. Kuldeep Yadav and Harsh Dubey picked up one wicket each. For South Africa A, Marques Ackerman was the highest scorer with 134 runs, followed by Jordan Hermann with 26 and Prenelan Subrayen with 20. India A now have a lead of 34 runs.

Temba Bavuma Falls for a Golden Duck on His Return

Temba Bavuma, making his return in test since South Africa’s World Test Championship title win in June, was playing his first red-ball match but had a disappointing outing. He was dismissed for a golden duck as Akash Deep took his wicket. Not an ideal warm-up for the South African skipper ahead of the upcoming India series.

After being bowled out for 255 runs on Day 1, India A started strongly with the ball on Day 2 as Akash Deep struck early, dismissing Lesego Senokwane bowled in his very first over. It’s a positive start for Akash Deep, who has also been selected in India’s squad for the upcoming Test series against South Africa.
