New Zealand are still mathematically in with a chance of qualifying in the top 4, but realistically, they don’t. However, it won’t be a surprise if they go for the kill and do their part of winning by a massive margin against Pakistan. They have had a very disappointing tournament with several close losses. They were subject to a massive defeat to Australia, which dented their NRR significantly. They have injury concerns with Devine & Tahuhu, so it will be interesting if they will be fit enough to play or not.
As for Pakistan, they are out of this tournament with pretty much no chance of making it to the top 4. This becomes a battle of pride for them as they will look to add some points to their tally before finishing this World Cup. They had quite a few chances of winning the games but ended up losing them.
It was finally against the West Indies in their previous game when they defeated them in a rain-curtailed match to win their first game in this tournament and their first World Cup game since 2009. They will look to make amends in their last game against New Zealand in a bid to finish on a high after being dismantled completely by England.
