It’s match #5 and it’s a clash between the host New Zealand and the World Cup debutants Bangladesh. Both are coming on the back of a defeat in the first game.
New Zealand might be a bit shell-shocked after losing the game despite being in a winning position at the start of the last over. All they needed was 6 off 6 before Deandra Dottin put her hand up and decided to take matters into her own hands. Sophie Devine scored a hundred and looked as if she will take her side home until Chinelle Henry took a blinder off her own bowling.

Meanwhile, Bangladesh fought tooth and nail with South Africa who were definitely a superior team between the two despite the absence of Dane van Niekerk and Lizelle Lee. The Bangladesh women started really well with regular wickets and never allowed South Africa to run away with the game and managed to restrict them to a below-par total.
In the run-chase, they got off a to a very good start and looked to be running away the game for most part of the innings, but a collapse followed and they fell short of the total. Ayabonga Khaka was yet again the star of the match by picking up 4 wickets.
