‘Keep your nose out of my business’ -Sarfaraz Ahmed’s comment about his wife sparks criticism on internet

Sarfaraz Ahmed faced heavy criticism on social media after his comments on his wife's advice about cricket surfaced in a recent video.

Former Pakistan Skipper Sarfaraz Ahmed and his wife were guests on the Nida Yasir show where they spoke on a bunch of topics like their marriage, how they met for the first time, Sarfaraz’s cricketing career etc.

While the show was light hearted for most part of the time, there was segment in which Nida asked Sarfaraz’s wife Khushbakht whether her husband would bring cricket as a topic in between them. This was the one which created a rift among people on social media who then started to argue with positives and negatives.

Khushbakht would go on to answer Nida’s question by saying, “If he isn’t performing well or has lost a match or even if he had won one, he’d make sure to leave all of that [sentiment] in the ground,”. Nida then intervened with, “So, no after-effects of that?” to which Khushbakht responded, “Not at all. We haven’t faced any of it.”

His wife would also add that they won’t talk about cricket at all. “He doesn’t like talking about it and neither do I.” Khushbakht was quoted as saying. Sarfaraz then went on to add, “Once we did have a chat about it and it was 2013”, to which his wife laughed and quipped, “Sarfaraz, no! You really have to share this?”.

Sarfaraz would eventually reveal, “I was touring in South Africa, it was my first test match tour. The wickets there are a bit bouncy, South Africa was at top of the game at that time as well. I couldn’t perform and I was out of the team. Khushbakht advised me to work on my diet and focus more. I told her, ‘You have said this today, keep your nose out of my business from now on. There’s no need for you to become my coach.” Khushbakht laughed all along and sportively added, “We haven’t spoken about cricket since that day.”

This however didn’t sit well some of the social media users who started to blame Sarfraz for not accepting and demeaning his wife’s opinion. While this was the majority, some of them also came into the support of Sarfraz and said that the couple were having fun between themselves and nothing beyond that.

Nobody knows in what motive Sarfraz answered the question but one thing for certain is that the statement made by him has went viral on social media with his comments gaslighting his wife.
