Kyle Jamieson pulled off arguably the catch of the New Zealand summer on Saturday (March 12). Playing for Auckland against Otago in Round 6 of the ongoing Plunket Shield 2021-22 season, Jamieson took a memorable grab when he secured a caught & bowled by diving one-handed to his right.
Jamieson had not even fully completed his follow-through, but the pacer adjusted swiftly and went down with the ball’s low trajectory off the bat and completed the catch in one of the most brilliant pieces of fielding you will see.
Otago’s opening batter Mitch Renwick was quite unfortunate to find himself at the wrong end of such magnificent athleticism from Kyle Jamieson, who continues to enjoy the time of his life on the cricket field.

Kyle Jamieson has been outstanding since the start of his Test career.
The exciting caught & bowled was on display on the second ball of the 20th over in Otago’s first-innings. Till then, Renwick and his opening partner Hamish Rutherford had added 50 runs for the first wicket in response to Auckland’s massive 389.
Desperately in search of a breakthrough, Auckland handed the ball to their ace quick Kyle Jamieson and the tall speedster didn’t disappoint.

One of the hardest things to do as a bowler is to adjust late against the follow-through for such catches. But Jamieson made it seem like a piece of a cake in this instance and sent Renwick back after a thrilling grab that would remain etched in memories.
Everything that the promising cricketer currently touches turns to gold. Kyle Jamieson has been absolutely brilliant with bat, ball and in the field since the start of his Test career for New Zealand back in February 2020.
The 27-year-old has played 14 Tests, 5 ODIs and 8 T20Is for his country, producing his best in the traditional red-ball version of the game. He has taken 66 Test wickets already with a jaw-dropping average of 18.72, including 5 five-wicket hauls.
