After several notable performances in the first two days of the Ranji Trophy Round 4, the focus now shifts to Day 3. Here’s the full round-up of all the key moments and performances from Day 3, Round 4.
In the Mumbai vs Himachal Pradesh Ranji trophy match, Shams Mulani took a fifer in the second innings. He bowled 15.1 overs, gave away 37 runs, and took five wickets.
In the first innings, he had taken two wickets. Mumbai won the match by an innings and 120 runs.
In the Vidarbha vs Odisha match, Dhruv Shorey scored a century in the second innings, making 101 runs off 161 balls, including eight boundaries.
He also scored 144 in the first innings, registering centuries in both innings. Vidarbha set Odisha a target of 345 runs. At the end of the day’s play, Odisha were 44-0, needing 301 more runs to win on the final day.
In the Chandigarh vs Punjab match, Uday Saharan scored a match-winning century and helped Punjab win by eight wickets. Punjab chased a target of 227, and their skipper Uday Saharan remained unbeaten on 117, hitting 15 boundaries.
Kumar Kartikeya, in the Goa vs Madhya Pradesh match, took a fifer in the second innings for Madhya Pradesh. He finished his spell of 28 overs conceding 81 runs and taking five wickets.
Goa set Madhya Pradesh a target of 328, and at the end of the day’s play, MP were 21-1, still needing 307 more runs to win.
Mayank Agarwal, in the Maharashtra vs Karnataka Ranji Trophy match, scored a half-century in the second innings and was unbeaten on 64 runs at the end of the day’s play.
In the first innings, he also scored 80 runs. At the end of the day’s play, Karnataka were leading by 157 runs, with the score at 144-5.
In the Mumbai vs Himachal Pradesh match, Vaibhav Arora scored 51 runs off 61 balls in the first innings, including six boundaries and four sixes.
However, when Himachal Pradesh batted again after being asked to follow on, Vaibhav Arora was out for a duck in the second innings. Himachal Pradesh lost the match by an innings and 120 runs.
Ayush Badoni, in the second innings of the Delhi vs Jammu and Kashmir match, scored 72 runs off 73 balls. His innings included eight boundaries and one six.
In the first innings, Badoni also scored a half-century, making 64 runs. Delhi set Jammu and Kashmir a target of 179, and at the end of day 3, Jammu and Kashmir were 55-2. With the final day remaining, they need 124 more runs to win.
In the ongoing Uttar Pradesh vs Nagaland match, Shivam Mavi, who scored a century in the first innings on Day 2, has now taken a five-wicket haul on Day 3. He is having a terrific match with both bat and ball. Uttar Pradesh are well ahead in this game. Mavi bowled 10 overs went for 18 runs and took five wickets.
J Suchith, in the Haryana vs Uttarakhand Ranji Trophy match, took six wickets in the second innings and helped Uttarakhand win by an innings and 28 runs. He had also taken five wickets in the first innings. In total, he took 11 wickets in the match and scored a fifty in the first innings with the bat.
