Bangladesh wicketkeeper Mushfiqur Rahim became the butt of jokes again after a comical celebration for a catch saw him hurt his shoulder during the third and final ODI against South Africa on Wednesday. The incident happened in the 29th over of the innings when Taskin Ahmed had Kagiso Rabada edging behind.
Mushfiqur Rahim dove low forward to pull off a good catch, went on to complete a somersault and threw the ball up extravagantly only to clutch his shoulders a second later while wincing in pain.

It was Taskin’s second wicket in the over and Rahim’s second catch too. Two balls earlier, David Miller’s pull shot had brushed his gloves and Rahim had held onto another catch.
Rabada’s wicket gave Taskin his five-wicket haul and the catch, which had to be checked to ensure it did not brush with the grass, was taken cleanly but needed the physio to come out to inspect Rahim.
In the process of throwing the ball up in the air, Mushfiqur Rahim had stretched his shoulder so bad that he was seen clutching it immediately, clearly in huge pain. The physio went on to give a quick check and cleared Rahim soon.
Bangladesh, meanwhile, completed a routing of the Proteas in their backyard to sit atop the World Cup Super League points table and also complete a historic ODI series win in South Africa, their first.
