Talks of their rift maybe rife outside but Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli continue to share admirable camaraderie on the cricket field.
The duo continues to uphold their great stature and rally along to keep India competitive and successful despite all the drama and chaos in Indian cricket over the past few months.
Their wonderful bond was on show in a critical moment of the first ODI against West Indies in Ahmedabad on Sunday (February 6) when Kohli urged Rohit to opt for the review giving his valuable input before the new white-ball skipper agreed and reaped the rewards.

Virat Kohli made sure Rohit Sharma had a correct DRS call as skipper.
The incident came to light on the fifth ball of the 22nd over in the West Indies innings. Middle-order bat Shamarh Brooks ended up fending a legspinner from Yuzvendra Chahal towards keeper Rishabh Pant to trigger a huge caught behind appeal from the Indians. But the on-field umpire remained unmoved, leading to a quick DRS discussion among the players.
While the case looked straightforward from the front-on angle, there was a sense of confusion since Brooks had his bat touching his front pad exactly the time the ball seems to have brushed his outside edge.

Pant, standing behind the wickets, was obviously unsure and conveyed the same to Rohit Sharma. It required the experience and clear-headedness of Virat Kohli, who was fielding in close proximity, to tell Rohit instantly that the bat indeed made contact with the ball before its toe hit the front-pad.
“Rohit, bat bhi laga hai aur bat pad pe laga hai (the bat made contact with the ball and touched the pads thereafter),” Kohli instantly told Rohit to clear up confusion and ensure that the captain can make a straightforward decision.
Kohli also said he heard a definite noise off the willow when Pant said “Mujhe Nahi Pata (I don’t know).

The matter was duly sent upstairs where the technology proved Kohli absolutely right and India had another much-deserved breakthrough. Brooks’ departure left West Indies further drowned into trouble waters at 78 for 6 after losing the toss and being asked to bat first.
