WATCH: Shaheen fakes angry throw at Rizwan; look at how he responded

Mohammad Rizwan has been in red hot form in T20 cricket for a long while now. Last year he breached the ultimate 2000-run mark in a year in all T20s, 1000 of which came in T20Is alone, both records at the very top of the pile.

On Friday night, in the Pakistan Super League game against Lahore Qalandars, Rizwan didn’t quite take off well enough, but he still managed to win hearts with a very warm response to an angry Shaheen Shah Afridi.

The national teammates were involved in an interesting episode after Rizwan blocked a full ball from Shaheen back to the bowler. While the left-arm quick failed to pick the ball up on his followthrough, he faked an angry throw back at Rizwan, staring angrily at him all the while.

A playful Rizwan though, spread his arms wide and smiled back at Shaheen and later feigned an apologising gesture to cool the Lahore Qalandars pacer down.

Multan Sultans went on to concede the match, their first defeat in PSL 2022 after six straight wins. Chasing 183 for a win, the Sultans never quite got going and finished on 130 all out in the final over with Shaheen, Zaman Khan, Rashid Khan and Haris Rauf among the wickets.

Rizwan’s sluggish 27-ball 20 did not quite help Multan Sultans’ cause, but there’s no arguing how good Rizwan has been for them so far.

The opener has 269 runs after seven matches, the third-most for any player this season. He averages 44 with the bat but has a strike-rate in the 120s, something that has gone against him in recent times.
