Sydney Thunder will be up against the Brisbane Heat in Match 2 of the latest edition of the Big Bash League (BBL) in Australia on Monday (December 6) in Canberra.
The two teams will be hoping to make a winning start to their campaign at the Manuka Oval, as the race to the playoffs begins.
Top 5 teams in the standings will make the playoffs for the competition. Depending on their league standings, teams will be divided into Qualifier, Challenger, Knock-out, Eliminator and the final in BBL’s newly adapted playoffs structure.

Brisbane Heat don’t have happy memories of playing Sydney Thunder the last time at the Manuka Oval as they suffered a defeat. But the team do came roaring back last season against the Thunder, defeating them in their next two outings, including the knock-out game. That shall give them a sense of confidence heading into this game and also an edge.
1. Alex Hales (10 credits) – Hales was magnificent for Sydney Thunder in the last edition of the BBL. The English right-hander top-scored for his team, making 543 runs at an average of 38.78 and strike-rate of 161.60, including one hundred and three half-centuries.
2. Chris Lynn (10 credits) – Lynn was Heat’s stand-out batter last summer. The explosive right-hander made 458 runs at an average of 35.23 and strike-rate of 154.72 with five half-centuries. He was instrumental to Heat’s success throughout the competition.
3. Daniel Sams (9.5 credits) – Sams was terrific as an allround cricketer for the Thunder last summer, scoring 200 runs at a strike-rate of 188.67 while also picking up 11 wickets with an economy rate of 8.71.
1. Chris Green (8.5 credits) – Green has been a crucial cog in Thunder’s wheels. The spinner bagged 13 wickets last BBL with an economy rate of 8.61. Green has an overall T20 economy rate of only 6.98 with 102 wickets.
2. Max Bryant (8.5 credits) – Bryant made 302 runs from his 14 games for the Brisbane Heat last summer, batting at a strike-rate of 127.42.
3. Jack Wildermuth (8.5 credits) – Wildermuth, the right-arm quick, played 12 games for Brisbane Heat last summer, taking 13 wickets with a respectable economy rate of 7.42. Heat will hope that he can replicate his success for them this season.
