Can Brisbane Heat beat Perth Scorchers in the SCO vs HEA BBL encounter?
Perth Scorchers levelled up 1-1 with the Brisbane Heat in the league stage of last summer’s BBL but then made the most telling blow, winning the Challenger played in Canberra between the two sides to make the final. That should give them confidence and an edge heading into this one, especially considering they are playing at home and the fact that Heat lost their opening game to Sydney Thunder.
1. Chris Lynn (10 credits) – Lynn may have failed in the last game but the explosive opener remains a good captaincy choice. In the last summer of BBL, he top-scored for the Heat, scoring 458 runs at an average of 35.23 and strike-rate of 154.72.
2. Jason Behrendorff (8.5 credits) – the Scorchers pacer was terrific last summer, taking 16 wickets from his 16 BBL games while maintaining a brilliant economy rate of 7.03. The left-arm pacers will be hoping to continue his form and rhythm.
3. Colin Munro (9.5 credits) – not considered by the New Zealand selectors for the T20I side, here is another great opportunity for Munro to strengthen his bid for reselection. The explosive left-hand opener was amongst the runs for Scorchers last summer, making 443 runs at a slightly low-key strike-rate of 128.03. But everyone knows that he can destroy opposition attacks on his day.
1. Ashton Turner (8.5 credits) – dangerous hitter of the cricket ball on his day, Turner didn’t quite have the most consistent BBL last summer. But scored his 228 runs at an impressive strike rate of 152. Turner can be a handy budget pick to have.
2. Sam Heazlett (8.5 credits) – Heazlett was one of Heat’s better performers with the bat in their defeat against the Thunder, playing a knock of 42 off 37 in a team score of 140/8.
3. Liam Guthrie (8 credits) – Guthrie, the left-arm quick, took two wickets in his spell for the Heat in their loss versus the Thunder. The pacer will be looking to continue chipping away at the wickets column.
