As agonizingly as it could get, Colombo Stars lost their 3rd game of the tournament yesterday night despite putting in a spirited performance against the Dambulla Giants. Dinesh Chandimal’s effort went in vain in this fixture, but their opponents on Sunday are coming into this fixture after a defeat. The Gladiators had a forgettable outing against Kandy, and went down pretty much one-sided. They need a pick-me-up, and this could be the perfect time to face the bottom-placed team.
Kusal Perera, Tom Banton, Ashan Priyanjan, Dhananjaya de Silva (c), Dinesh Chandimal (wk), Sherfane Rutherford, Seekkuge Prasanna, Dushmantha Chameera, Naveen-ul-Haq, Ravi Rampaul, Jeffrey Vandersay
The weather conditions in Colombo will continue to keep the fans on the edge of their seats, as the rain gods are making very frequent appearances. The temperatures have remained pretty comfortable for a game of cricket, around 25-29 degrees during evening game time.

The track could turn a little slower as the game goes by and the spinners will be very effective in the second innings. Any score in excess of 150 runs batting first will be challenging to chase down.
There isn’t much difference between both sides, but the Gladiators have done a little better in the tournament thus far, making them a more attractive proposition to pick players from. Fantasy managers can take a gamble with some of the Stars’ players for multiplier roles.
Samit Patel: Besides getting 96 crucial runs with the bat, the English veteran is also the highest wicket-taker in the tournament with 9 scalps to his credit. His all-round credentials make him a brilliant choice for captaincy in small leagues.
Bhanuka Rajapaksa: After a fairly decent start to the season, Rajapaksa has been struggling for runs, but his overall form in limited-overs is worthy of taking a gamble in the mega leagues for captaincy.
Seekkuge Prasanna: The veteran leg-break bowler has picked up 7 wickets in 4 games, making him a very useful prospect for fantasy managers. He has picked up 278 points thus far and is a good choice for vice-captaincy.
Nuwan Thushara: The left-arm pacer has been doing a fine job thus far and has 6 wickets to his credit in 5 games. He can be in your team for just 8.5 credits.
Noor Ahmad: The 16-year-old left-arm leggie provides a major X-factor for his team, and has picked up 5 wickets, showing great promise to pick more. He costs 8 credit points.
Dhananjaya Lakshan: The young fast bowler has produced some decent spells, but has been unlucky to not get more wickets. He has picked up 4 wickets in the last three games, and costs just 8 credit points.
