Can the Heat keep Thunder at bay in the HEA vs THU BBL encounter?
Tough one to predict, isn’t it? Both the sides have had a slow start to the competition and have their own chinks, reflecting nicely in their win-loss record so far. But perhaps the Heat will be carrying some edge into this game as they pulled off a good win over Melbourne Renegades in their last match, while the Thunder lost to Melbourne Stars in their last outing.
1. Alex Hales (10 credits) – Hales is an obvious captaincy candidate for this game, considering how good he has been for the Thunder. The England right-hander was his team’s top run-getter last summer and while he has had a slow start to this year’s BBL, he is expected to catch up and dominate attacks again.
2. Chris Lynn (10 credits) – the ever-explosive Lynn could be another fruitful captaincy choice. The Brisbane Heat batter has also had a slow start to the tournament. But he showed encouraging signs of a return to form in the last game against Renegades, scoring a 15-ball 32.
3. Alex Ross (8.5 credits) – hero with the bat for Thunder last game, Ross blasted a 49-ball 77 against the Stars in a difficult situation. His innings, featuring 4 fours and 4 sixes, allowed Thunder to compete by posting 151/5 despite being 40 for 3 at one stage.
1. James Bazley (8 credits) – Bazley, the right-arm quick, bowled a superb spell of 3/28 against the Renegades in Heat’s impressive win last game. He could be a very handy budget pick.
2. Sam Heazlett (8.5 credits) – Heazlett produced another impressive knock for the Heat last game. Facing the Renegades, the batter struck a freeflowing 29-ball 44 to push his team to a win.
3. Liam Guthrie (8 credits) – left-arm pacer Guthrie bowled an extremely miserly spell of 1/10 off his 4 overs in Heat’s victory over the Renegades last game.
