Defending champions Sydney Sixers are off to a flying start in the tournament, having won four of their five opening games. They managed to edge the Adelaide Strikers in a thrilling encounter last time around, and are continuing their fantastic run. Having lost two games in a row, Thunder seem to be back on track exactly at the right time. They registered a thumping win over Brisbane Heat, beating them by 53 runs in their previous game.
The dynamics in the Sydney derby over the years have been tilted more towards the Sixers, with them winning 12 of the 19 meetings between these teams. With both sides entering this contest on a positive note, we can expect a crunchy battle at the Sydney Showground.

Some thunderstorms are expected in Sydney on Sunday, making things a little jittery for this contest. The temperatures will remain slightly on the higher side, well above 25 degrees, and the dew factor could chip in as the contest goes on.

This isn’t one of the most high-scoring venues in Australia, and we saw the team batting first struggle to get runs in the last game. Any score in excess of 160-170 will be necessary for teams batting first to stand a chance.
Thunder are coming into this game after a morale-boosting win and some of their players can be considered for multiplier roles, but the suggestion to fantasy managers will be to pick a majority of the players from Sixers.
Josh Philippe: The dashing southpaw has been in sensational touch, and is currently the leading run-scorer in the tournament with 282 runs at an average just in excess of 70 and a strike rate of 152.43. He is the number one choice for captaincy in small leagues.
Sam Billings: It is worth taking a gamble with Sam Billings as captain in the mega leagues, who offers some explosive knocks at the start for Thunder. He has 161 runs in 4 knocks and averages just over 50.
Moises Henriques: One of the most productive and consistent players in the league, Henriques is second only to Philippe in the run-scoring chart with 232 runs 5 knocks. He is a solid option for vice-captaincy.
Hayden Kerr: The 25-year-old offers a lot for just 8 credit points and is a definite pick for your fantasy team. He has picked up 6 wickets in 5 games thus far.
Jason Sangha: The former Australian U19 captain chipped in with an explosive 39 off just 28 balls in the last game, helping his side mount a big total. He costs just 8 credits.
Jordan Silk: He did not get to bat a lot of overs in the last two games, but Jordan Silk has been getting good starts coming in as a finisher and can contribute some vital points for just 8.5 credit points.
